National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) & What to teach for NDLM

National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) has been initiated with the vision to empower at least one person per household with crucial digital literacy skills by 2020. This is expected to touch the lives of more than 250 million individuals over the next few years. NDLM is an effort to complement government’s vision to transform one from each household as digitally literate. The project aims at helping adults with low technological literacy develop the skills they need to interact in an increasingly digital world.


NASSCOM Foundation has developed the training material for NDLM with the vision to empower people from all backgrounds to understand and use digital devices. The training curriculum has hence been made very simplistic in order to deliver practice-oriented training on digital literacy.
The ‘Basics of Digital Literacy’ curriculum has been split in 7 modules. Each module has been translated into four major languages namely; English, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada with more coming soon. You may download the modules from the links below:

Education experts and volunteers from leading organizations in India have helped NASSCOM Foundation develop the NDLM training curriculum. IntelMicrosoft and Google have generously contributed with their respective online training contents and GTT assisted NASSCOM Foundation in harmonizing the content for the NDLM program. Volunteers from Cognizant Technologies and Online Tyari have helped translate the content in the local languages of India.
